President & Founder
Shawn Herbig is the President and Founder of IQS Research. A mechanical engineer by training, Shawn, and in turn, IQS Research, bring precision and scientific rigor to the process of conducting social science research.
Shawn is responsible for guiding the development and execution of the various research programs conducted by the company. During his tenure, he has overseen hundreds of projects, ranging from small qualitative studies involving only a handful of high-value respondents, to projects interviewing several thousand respondents, conducted in multiple languages, and across multiple continents. He particularly enjoys managing the quantitative analysis within IQS Research. In this role, he is able to blend his love of research with his ability to coach intelligent analysts, all in an effort to support data-driven clients.
He is a frequent speaker who is as comfortable presenting in the board room as he is to groups of over 400. In addition to his current role at the company, Shawn also teaches Quantitative Research Methods in Bellarmine University’s prestigious Masters of Data Analytics program.
Shawn hails from the automotive industry where he started as an evaluator for pre-production, prototype vehicles before becoming the Quality Analyst and ultimately Lead Quality Analyst for the Ford Explorer vehicle line. During his tenure, Shawn was regarded as a national expert on automotive warranty and other direct customer metrics. He has since expanded his knowledge base to include myriad forms of consumer, market, and employee feedback and analysis tools.
Shawn has received several accolades for his work in business and in the Louisville community including Business First’s 40 Under 40 Award, the Technology Network’s Entrepreneur Award, and the Medistar Innovation Award. He has also been recognized as a Business First Partner in Healthcare (2008- 2011). In addition, Shawn believes strongly in community involvement and is involved in numerous community organizations including Leadership Louisville and Louisville Healthcare Fellows. He has also served on several boards including the Health Enterprises Network, The Heuser Clinic, and Zoom Group where he served as Board Chairman.
